Break And Trimming Circles, Arcs, Curved Polylines

It seems that the Break and Trim commands have no effect on Circles, Arcs or Polylines that have curved by the Spline or Bezier commands.

Further testing show that most of the Modify commands such as Divide, Offset, Extend, etc, also cannot be performed on these objects.

Can this be corrected to allow all applicable Modify commands to be performed on these objects?

Also, the Break command leaves a select cursor (small box) on the screen at the Modify menu drop down location. Can this be removed?
